I have lived in the village for 10 years and in the area for a further 30 years.
Following a law degree, my career was spent in the food industry including 20 years in commodity trading and four years living abroad. I was then in charge of a series of businesses in the UK and on the continent. On the board of Tate and Lyle plc for 10 years I had responsibility for its sugar activities in the UK and the EU as well as its international trading division.
I have been a governor of a 6th Form College and have been involved in inner city regeneration in East London. Following retirement, for seven years I was chairman of a London based international Commodity Trading Company.
I am a keen skier and an indifferent golfer and gardener.
I hope that my experience in a variety of management roles will be of use to the Council as we enter a very critical time with so many development pressures on the village and the area.
