BARRINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
Applications are invited for the post of
PARISH CLERK
Working hours – approximately 18.5 hours per week
Salary in accordance with the NJC scales: points 18-22 (£25,419 – £27,534 p.a. pro-rata) or
exceptionally points 23-25 (£28,226 – £29,174 p.a. pro-rata) depending upon experience and qualifications. Start Date: 15 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
You will be joining the Parish Council at a very interesting time. Currently there are approx. 480 properties in the village and this is being increased by a housing development of 220+ new homes of which 50 are already occupied.
Resulting from the above, the Council is and will be in receipt of substantial S106 funding from the developer in order to improve and add to existing community facilities.
We are looking to appoint a Parish Clerk to work with our Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) to help take the Council forward in this exciting and challenging period of change.
You will have, or be capable of obtaining the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA). You will be IT competent and work principally from home in the first instance. The Parish Council intends to establish an office within the village in due course. Some evening work will be required as monthly Parish Council meetings with occasional working group meetings occur at this time; attendance at other evening meetings will be infrequent and on an, “as needed” basis and generally by zoom.
Working hours will be 18.5 pw but subject to review after 6 months.
Your role will include a variety of responsibilities including being the GDPR Officer, but excluding the separate RFO function. A full job description is available on request from the Chair of Council as below.
