Managing the Green in the long term.
Recent years have seen increased pressures from proposed development around the Green. The Charity’s Trustee has had to take legal advice regarding the granting of new licences around the Green.
It has become clear that there is no single solution that fits the various different development and access scenarios across the Green that arise. While that might be the simplest solution, it might not necessarily best serve the objectives and long-term interests of the Green Charity as required of the Trustee by the Charity Commission.
The Green Charity is, therefore, continuing to treat each situation on its merits and taking legal advice where appropriate. The Green Charity will be open and reasonable in meeting its responsibilities to the Charity Commission, in the best interests of the Village Green and all the inhabitants of Barrington.
